Over two centuries ago, Chief Blackwolf and his Winnebago tribe resided in the Sheboygan River Valley. Today, melded into that very same river basin formed by the flows of glacial runoff, you’ll find The River and The Meadow Valleys at Blackwolf Run®. Blackwolf Run opened for play in June 1988 and was named that year’s “Best New Public Course” in the country by Golf Digest. We recommend staying at Kohler Resort, playing the Blackwolf Run River Course, Whistling Straits Course and The Irish Course.

Regarded as one of Pete Dye’s crowning achievements, Blackwolf Run has hosted a number of professional championships: the Andersen Consulting World Golf Championships in 1995, 1996 and 1997 as well as the U.S. Women’s Open in 1998 and 2012.

Golf Course Information

Professionals and amateurs of all skill levels can experience a day of golf like no other on the Meadow Valleys course. Described as both subtle and devilish, it winds through meadows and charges across ravines, reflecting the natural features of the Wisconsin terrain. This championship course challenges even the experts to weigh the relative advantages of distance and accuracy, though staggered tees put much of the danger out of harm’s way for the average golfer.

The Meadow Valleys course is considered much gentler than the other courses at Kohler, and for this reason it has not been rated as highly as the others. But for the everyday golfer, all important aspects of a great golf course are there; it has fantastic bunker placement, severe doglegs and wide-open fairways with the right degree of rough-cuts that feels like a proper championship course. All the while the Meadow Valleys golf course remains a pleasant journey through pristine parkland, much like its adjacent River Course. The 18th shares a green with the 18th hole of The River course, making for sublime finishes both in and out of tournaments.
