    Golf Course Information

Blackwolf Run® and Whistling Straits challenge the pros while providing the amateur golfer a fair and unforgettable test. All four courses between the two venues were chosen for 2017/2018 America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses by Golf Digest. Created by legendary golf course designer Pete Dye, they have hosted three PGA Championships, the Andersen Consulting World Golf Championships, a U.S. Senior Open and two U.S. Women’s Opens. In 2020, The Straits at Whistling Straits will host the Ryder Cup Matches.

    Whistling Straits – The Straits

Arguably the greatest championship course in the United States, The Straits at Whistling Straits® has hosted the 2004, 2010 and 2015 PGA Championships and the 2007 U.S. Senior Open, and it is the future site of the 2020 Ryder Cup. Open, rugged and windswept terrain defines the walking-only, links-style Straits course sculpted along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. A masterpiece in the world of golf created by Pete Dye, The Straits at Whistling Straits® was ranked #4 in Golf Digest’s 2017/2018 America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses, #5 in GolfWeek’s 2017 Best Resort Courses, #22 in Golf Digest’s 2017/2018 America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, and #51 in Golf Digest’s 2016/2017 World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.

    Whistling Straits – The Irish

Just inland from the great lake and interspersed by four meandering streams, the grassland-and-dunes aspect of the Irish course is a deceivingly tranquil landscape. Both traditional and memorable, the Irish course is full of unique challenges. The course has everything you want from lush grass, a generous amount of water & trees to make the course challenging, but also well-places bunkers to keep you on your toes. The Irish at Whistling Straits® was ranked #35 in GolfWeek’s 2017 Best Resort Courses and #45 in Golf Digest’s 2017/2018 America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses.

    Blackwolf Run – The River

Pete Dye designed one of the best golf courses in America on rich land once known by the Winnebagos and Algonquins for exceptional fishing and hunting. Intimidating to the professional, fair and dramatic for the amateur, this “beauty of the beast” measures 7,404 from the back tees with a slope of 151. Target landing areas, strategic bunkering, large undulating greens, and water or gorges on 14 of the 18 holes characterize the challenge of this championship course. The playing values of the River course are a match for its natural beauty.

Blackwolf Run – The Meadow Valleys

Professionals and amateurs of all skill levels can experience a day of golf like no other on the Meadow Valleys course. Described as both subtle and devilish, it winds through meadows and charges across ravines, reflecting the natural features of the Wisconsin terrain. This championship course challenges even the experts to weigh the relative advantages of distance and accuracy, though staggered tees put much of the danger out of harm’s way for the average golfer.
