Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, the golf course features snaking, tight fairways that curve around lakes, hills and old ruins. The golf course hosted the Portuguese Open three times since opening in 1992. The Penha Longa Resort is located on the southeast side of the Sintra Hills, just minutes away from the Atlantic coast and 25-minutes to Lisbon’s international airport, and 30 minutes to Lisbon’s city centre. If arriving from the airport, take the E1 highway for half a kilometre before taking the A37 to N249 in Sintra for 24 kilometres, before taking the N9 to your destination. The coastal route is also very popular: take the coastal road from Lisbon to Cascais, and head north until you see signs for the Penha Long Resort.
