About

From the rolling greens to the famous “flower hole,” SentryWorld consistently ranks as one of the best destination golf courses in the nation. Golf Digest ranked us number 34 in its 100 Greatest Public Courses list. SentryWorld is approximately a 3-hour drive from Chicago or Minneapolis, and 2 hours from Milwaukee. The golf course conditions are pristine and are unmatched by other facilities in the region. We recommend visiting SentryWorld as part of a multi-day Wisconsin travel experience, stopping at Whistling Straits, Erin Hills Resort and Grand Geneva Resort.

Golf Course Information

An iconic Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed course with a rich history, SentryWorld blazed the trail as Wisconsin’s first destination golf course. The course opened in 1982 and the quickly became famous for its world-class calibre and stunning signature “Flower Hole.” In 2013, Robert Trent Jones, Jr. returned to SentryWorld, and in collaboration with course architects Bruce Charlton and Jay Blasi, oversaw a major renovation to the 200-acre course, with upgrades, improvements and changes to everything from its layout, greens, grasses and bunkers to its irrigation system, water features and even the onsite sports complex, now called the Fieldhouse.

SentryWorld is the pinnacle of parkland golf. Redesigned in 2014, it combines the character and versatility of the country’s finest modern courses with a welcoming atmosphere and stunning natural beauty. Throughout its 18 holes and 200 acres, SentryWorld offers rolling green fairways, pristine blue waters, impeccable white sands, and a one-of-a-kind course design by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., that encourages creativity and rewards resourcefulness for players of all ages and skill levels. The course incorporates these elements seamlessly, testing golfers while immersing them in striking scenery.

Water comes into play on 12 of SentryWorld’s holes, while fairway and greenside bunkers nearly glow against their surroundings, and towering trees guide golfers onward while welcoming wayward shots with open arms. The course reflects this landscape, providing players with gorgeous views at every turn—from the spectacular fifth hole, a par five that hugs the shore of SentryWorld’s big lake, to the legendary “Flower Hole,” where 33,000 flowers surround the gently sloping green.

Practice facilities at SentryWorld are comprehensive to say the least. They have a warm-up tee located near the first tee. They have a practice tee with a variety of targets including multiple flagsticks, greens and bunkers and multiple bays. They also have a putting green, a chipping green, and a specific practice tee area for lessons.

Indoor Practice Facilities

Wisconsin’s unpredictable weather and cold winters can make golfing outdoors at least a little unpleasant, if not outright impossible. But that shouldn’t stop you from refining your game. At SentryWorld, the golf simulator and indoor range provide plenty of opportunities for you to take your game to the next level in a comfortable indoor setting. That way, you’ll be ready and better than ever when you return to the course. Test your golf skills all year round with SentryWorld’s indoor golf simulator.
