It must be mentioned that golf in Japan is considered an all-day affair. The front nine is usually normally played in the morning with an hour’s break for lunch. The back nine is commenced after lunch with particular focus attributed to the midday meal.

Where meals are included in the tour, the venue will be revealed each morning.

The timings are indicative and will be updated prior to departure.

Where group movements between hotels occurs, luggage will be securely trucked to the next destination separately from the group. We advise taking a day pack with your essentials because your luggage will not be accessible until we reach the hotel.

Day 1 – Arrivals

The time has come for your ultimate Japanese adventure. On arrival, you’ll be escorted to Hotel New Otani (based on arrivals into Haneda Airport. Narita airport arrivals will incur extra transfer fees due to extra distance from the airport to Tokyo).

This evening is free to spend at your leisure. We keep this night free to ensure everyone arrives on time for the welcome dinner.

Day 2  – Golf Day

Today we launch right into a warm-up round of golf at the Club at Ryugasaki. Golf in Japan is an intriguing all-day affair, with no afternoon tee-times due to the elongated length of time you’ll spend at the venue. The Japanese are very punctual people, and focus on spending time at a golf club to make every second count. Lunch between nines is over an hour long, so sit back, relax and enjoy life done in a different format.

This evening is our official welcome dinner you’ll enjoy a traditional Japanese specialty: Shabu Shabu, which is where a meal is cooked in a hot pot, bursting with flavours. Tonight is a great time to meet everyone over a casual meal, and we’ll have a speech to welcome you to Japan and explain how things will run.

Day 3 – Tokyo Full Day Tour

After breakfast at your leisure, make sure you pack a camera as today is our first official sightseeing day. We’ll load onto our private coach with a tour guide to explore Tokyo, one of the most densley populated regions on earth. This tour will visit:

  • The Imperial Palace
  • Asakusa
  • Nakamisse Street, Sensoji Shrine
  • Meiji Shrine
  • Omotesando Street

The evening is free to spend at your leisure.

Day 4 – Golf Day

Today we play one of the most scenic golf courses on our itinerary: Camellia Hills Country Club. We’ll enjoy breakfast at the club as we prepare for the day ahead. This beautiful parkland golf course features plenty of forests, bunkers, water hazards and tough greens. One particular thing to note are the flowers you’ll encounter – be sure to pack a camera!

The evening is free to spend at your leisure.

Day 5 – Full Day Tour

After breakfast at your leisure, we’ll take a private transfer and start a full-day tour of the following locations:

  • Mt Fuji’s 5th Station
  • Homagatake Ropeway
  • Lake Ashi Cruise

Included meals are breakfast, lunch and dinner. As always, take your camera & enjoy the ride as our expert tour guide will explain the places we visit and provide an insight into this ancient, yet modern culture.

After a full day seeing the sights, we’ll transfer to the Sengokuhara Prince Hotel for three nights.

Day 6 – Golf Day

Today we’ve got a round of golf scheduled at Dai Hakone Country Club at Kanagawa. This is one of the best golf courses on our itinerary. Surrounded by the beautiful Sengoku Hills, this parkland course has been landscaped to amazing standards. Designed by Komyo Otani, this course opened in 1954 and has hosted various national tournaments. This is a championship golf course. The signature hole is the 17th, known as the “Lotus Flower” due to its incredible green surrounded by tricky bunkers.

We’re lucky to be staying at the resort onsite, so after golf you can relax, enjoy an onsen and an evening free at your leisure.

Day 7 – Golf Day

This morning we’ll transfer to Shizuoka for a round of golf at the famous Kawana Hotel’s Oshima Course. This is a fantastic seaside parkland course that plays at some elevation on the Izu Peninsula, south of Tokyo. Enjoy the transfer out as it’s a beautiful drive south from Sengokuraha. The Kawana Hotel opened in 1928 and has become one of Japan’s most well-known golf destinations.

After golf, we’ll return to the Prince Hotel for one more night free to spend at your leisure.

Day 8 – Kyoto Half-day Tour

After two days of golf, it’s time for some more sightseeing. We’ll pack up & take a private coach to Odawara Station, before hopping on a Bullet Train to Kyoto which was once the capital city of Japan. We’ll enjoy a half-day tour this afternoon. The highlights of today include:

  • Odawara Station
  • Bullet Train
  • Golden Pavilion
  • To-Ji Temple

After our sightseeing day, we’ll check into the Granvia Hotel for two nights.

Day 9 – Full Day Tour

After breakfast at your leisure, we’ll don our cameras and head out for a full-day tour of Kyoto, one of the most spectacular cities in the world, known for its ancient traditions and beautiful architecture. We’ll visit:

  • Arashiyama, Bamboo Path
  • Tenryuji Temple
  • Kiyomizudera Temple, Sannen Zaka Street
  • Gion

After our tour, the evening is free to spend at your leisure. Perhaps you’ll join the tour leaders as we find a local Ramen or Gyoza restaurant?

Day 10 – Half Day Tour

After breakfast at your leisure, we’ll check-out and take a private coach to Nara, where you’ll come face to face with wild deer and see some of the most important sites, including:

  • Todaiji Temple (Wild Deer)
  • Kasuga Taisha
  • Osaka Castle

After sightseeing, we’ll transfer right to Rihga Royal in Osaka for two nights. Included in the tour is dinner at a local restaurant where you can take your pick of the best menu items from a buffet exclusively for ourselves.

Day 11, Thursday 11 April – Golf Day

For our next round of golf, we’re heading to Golden Valley Golf Club at Hyogo, which was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr in the 1980s. The golf course was carved from a pine forest with plenty of amazing scenery to enjoy. This is a long golf course presenting plenty of challenges, but it is also one of the most spectacular with streams, lakes and hills incorporated into the design.

After golf, we’ll head back to the hotel and enjoy an evening spent at your leisure.

Day 12 – Travel & Tour Day

Today, we’ll enjoy a fun day of sightseeing as we travel from Osaka to Hiroshima. The weather gradually gets warmer as we head to more tropical areas further south on the main island of Honshu. Today’s sites include;

  • Bullet Train – Osaka – Hiroshima
  • Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park
  • Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
  • Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dorm

We can guarantee this will be one of the most memorable days on tour. Afterwards, we check into Hotel Granvia Hiroshima for one night.

Day 13 – Travel & Tour Day

There is so much to discover in this wonderful country, our sightseeing barely scratches the surface. Today, we’ll travel from Hiroshima to Fukuoka, enjoying the following:

  • Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine
  • Hakata Machiya
  • Fukuoka Tower

On arrival in Fukuoka, we’ll transfer directly to Hotel New Otani Hakata for three nights. This evening is free to spend at your leisure but there is always an open invitation to join your hosts at a local restaurant.

Day 14  – Golf

For our second last round of golf, we’ll visit Fukuoka Century Golf Club, which is a beautiful course designed with flowers and trees as a central pillar of course construction. This golf course is located on a flat stretch of land beside a set of hills, but it requires the use of every club in your bag.

After golf, the evening is free to spend at your leisure in Hakata, which is not far from Fukuoka’s main town area.

Day 15, Golf

For our final round of golf, we head to Central Fukuoka Golf Club, which is situated over rolling hills which are characteristic of Japan’s topography. This parkland course was designed to blend harmoniously with native cedars and cherry trees. This is a golf course that everyone can enjoy, no matter your handicap.

After golf, we’ll head back to the hotel to freshen up before our final Farewell Dinner at  a local restaurant. This is where we’ll say our goodbyes, enjoying a final meal to remember the good times before we all head off around the world, returning home after a wonderful few weeks spent in Japan!

Day 16, Tuesday 16 April – Departures

After breakfast at your leisure, you’ll be transferred to Fukuoka Airport for your departure home. An alternative option is to get a Shinkansen bullet train back to Tokyo (5 hrs).

Of course you can. Our tours are specifically designed so non-golfing partners enjoy the trip as much as their golfing partners. Our hotels are always central to towns and popular activities. We also create non-golfer itineraries that are crafted with the interests of the non-golfers in mind and that means we consult with you before we book any non-golfer activity.

No, our golf tours are accepting of all golfers. Depending on the destination, some golf courses require you to have a certain handicap, and this will be expressed prior to any booking confirmation. Otherwise, you are welcome to join our golf tour as they are always inclusive.

Escorted golf tours are one of the most enjoyable types of holidays. Our groups are small and everyone gets to know each other on a first-name basis early-on in the tour.

On a golf day, breakfast is usually taken between 6:30 - 08.30, and our first tee-times are usually mid-morning. This allows for the early risers and late-goers to enjoy a two-hour period for breakfast. We like to keep the afternoons free for sightseeing, resort relaxation, shopping or general downtime. We usually restrict each day to having one activity, whether it's a half-day tour or round of golf, it's usually quite relaxed.

Apart from the welcome dinner and farewell dinner, we usually keep evenings free to enjoy whichever destination you are in. If you are travelling by yourself, the tour leaders have an open invitation to dine with them; if this is the case, you're in for a real treat as the tour leaders know where to go for the best meals. We always stay in destinations where local restaurants are either a short walk or short transfer away, so there are plenty of options to dine.

Over the decades, our tours average the following guest ratio: 70% couples, 30% singles. Our tours are comprised on average of 55% male and 45% female. One fact we are proud of is that our tours enjoy an average of 70% or higher repeat guest rate.

Absolutely. We are firm believers in travelling safely and with transparency. See our full list of accreditation here.
