It’s time to say goodbye after an epic journey to the land of the Rising Sun. We’ll be taking images of the group throughout to share with everyone as we go. |
Kuni Country Club at Saitama
Located in Hanno City, the Kuni Country Club has one golf course which opened in 1964. The course consists of 27-holes comprising three nine-hole routes named the East, West and North Courses. The golf course was designed by Seiby Railway Company on land that had formerly been used to hunt. The location and topography of Kuni Country Club lends itself to outstanding beauty. You will find a naturally hilly golf course pockmarked by ponds and laced with pine forests. Strategy is the key to your golf game here.
Caledonian Golf Club at Chiba
Designed by J. Michael Poellot and opening in 1990, the Caledonian Golf Club entertains stunning views throughout. Officially a parkland course, it plays like a modern inland links. Bunkers, greens and lakes provide various challenges as does the heavily treed areas between holes. Your approach shot will count for everything thanks to various doglegs, lakes and green formations. The golf course impressed Tom Doak “The cape par-4 13th around the lake at the back of the clubhouse, the par-5 15th with its approach vaguely reminiscent of the 13th at Augusta, and the par-5 closer with an alternate fairway route like the 15th at Seminole.”
Dai Hakone Golf Club at Kanagawa
Constituted of 18-holes with a par of 73, Dai Hakone Country Club was designed by Otani Komyo and Asaka Yasuhiko in 1954. It has hosted the LPGA’s CAT & Mitsubishi tournaments. This championship course is spread on the Sengokuhara plain against the background of the broad mountains of the out rim of Hakone Crater. The truly unique landscape provides a very memorable round of golf. Framed by mountains on all signs, the golf course is lined with forests and laced with trees, but the magnificent green complexes and undulating land makes for a fantastic round of 18-holes.
Hakone Kurakake Golf at Kanagawa
Perched on top of Hakone mountain with clear vistas to Mt. Fuji, Lake Ashi and the glistening Pacific ocean in the distance this course makes for a memorable round. The course is mostly flat and wide with welcoming fairways and not overly long making it well received by female golfers. Access is also easy here, making it a popular course for group competitions. Should the weather be cooperating you will be treated to a very memorable round with Mt. Fuji views most holes!
Golden Valley Golf Club at Hyogo
Perhaps the most famous course on our itinerary is Golden Valley Golf Club at Hyogo prefecture. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the golf course opened in 1987 and has since hosted the Japan Professional Golf Championship (PGA Event). Utilising creeks and the natural landscape, Jones made maximum use of water which features on 16 holes in various forms. The beauty of the complex is astounding so don’t forget your camera.
Fukuoka Century Golf Club
Featuring two 9-hole golf courses, Fukuoka Century Golf Club comprises the Chikushino and Asakura golf courses. Whilst each hole has nine holes in play, they both have a “0” hole which forms Japan’s only 20-hole golf course when played all together. Surrounded by nature, this parkland route has a lot of water and trees to be wary of. Hitting it straight is the aim of the game at Fukuoka Century Golf Club.
The Queen’s Hill Golf Club at Fukuoka
Designed by Akira Hattori, The Queen’s Hill Golf Course opened in November of 1992. The 18-hole course has a par of 72 and measures over 7,000 yards from the tips. Water is a big theme in Japan’s golf courses and with The Queen’s Hill, it is no exception so bring some extra golf balls. The golf course is laid out over an expansive area with many open fairways. The trick with this challenging course is to keep your golf ball dry and get it as close to the pin as possible. The greens at this club are enormous.
Beds can be arranged on a double-share or single-occupancy basis. Singles will have one bed (Queen or King):
