    One of Ireland’s premier parkland golf courses, a round at Dromoland consists of gentle hills, ancient woodlands and unexpected water hazards that are sure to excite every range of golfer. Designed by internationally acclaimed golf course architects Ron Kirby and JB Carr, the championship course at Dromoland measures 6,824 Yards / 6,235 Metres with a par of 72. It’s a demanding golf course that will test golfers of all abilities, though it is not unkind with its hazards. Fantastic views ensure an enjoyable round for everyone regardless of the scorecards. Dromoland is a real parkland gem of Irish golf with the full woodland and lake experience.

    Cocktail Bar at Dromoland Castle

    The Cocktail Bar at Dromoland Castle used to be the O’Brien family’s library. Offering an intimate space with cosy window seats overlooking the Castle lawns, you can enjoy casual meals, snacks and meticulously blended drinks before or after dinner. Beer, wine, whiskey and gin are also available.

     

    The Fig Tree Restaurant

    The Fig Tree restaurant at Dromoland is located next to the golf course and is always abuzz with patrons. It is the ideal place to meet for a coffee, enjoy a drink after your round and enjoy wonderfool cuisine.     The Academy at Dromoland Golf

    If you are looking to improve your golf swing during your golf holiday, look no further than Dromoland Castle’s Golf Academy. State-of-the-art practice facilities await, with a Ron Kirby designed Academy featuring bays fitted with Golf-Tech’s second generation fully-automated ‘Power Tees,’ alleviating the need to manually reload your ball. There are 4 bunkered target greens ranging between 100 and 250 metres, whilst the range is a total of 300 metres.

     

    During summer, there are two 500 square metre teeing areas which allow golfers instant feedback from conditions found on the nearby Dromoland Golf Course. A500 square metre putting green includes two USGA specification greens with the same grass used on he golf course, and a short game area consisting of bunkers, different slopes and grass lengths to simulate a real golf-like scenario.

    Tranquil, serene and invigorating, the Spa at Dromoland offers intimate escapism within 16th century castle walls.     How to Get There

    Dromoland Castle Hotel and Golf is strategically located just 30-minutes’ north-west of Limerick, one of the largest towns in Ireland and the biggest in south-west Ireland. Even closer lies the Shannon Airport, just 20-minutes’ drive from Dromoland Castle along the N19 and M18. Dromoland Castle is located in County Clare, an hours’ drive south of Galway. If you are coming from Cork, it is just under 2 hours’ drive north along the N20. Dromoland Castle can be reached from Dublin along the M7, which will take 2.5 hours, though it is easiest to fly to Shannon Airport and transfer straight to the hotel.
