The Tournament Format
The Masters is played over 72 holes of stroke play, beginning on Thursday and concluding on Sunday. The field is made up of around 90–100 players, including past champions, recent major winners, and the world’s best golfers. After 36 holes, a cut reduces the field to the top 50 players (and ties). The winner receives the famed Green Jacket and lifetime exemption into the tournament, along with a place in golfing history.
