    Golf Course Information

Golf should be a challenge, but it should also be fun. Whether visiting on a corporate golf day or perfecting your technique on a golfing break, it’s rare to find a golfer who has not been left just a little smitten after a round on either of the two championship golf courses. They have hosted everything, from PGA and European golf championships to charity days, company events to golf enthusiast society days. The professional team understands what makes an exceptional golfing experience. After play, escape to the 19th Hole Clubhouse where you can review that memorable shot that makes the day worthwhile.

    Wales International

The Wales International golf course is one of the longest inland courses in the UK. Enjoy true championship golf on a course that has already hosted 5 Sky televised European Tour events. At 6796-metres it offers a thrilling mix of mature woodland, lakes and ponds, challenging bunkers and USGA standard greens within beautiful surroundings. With four different tee positions to suit golfers of all abilities, you’re guaranteed a fair and memorable round that’ll leave you wanting to play it again and again!

    Lakeside Course

Thrills and spills of water in play at no less than 12 holes. It may be just over 1000 yards shorter than the Wales National, but at 5885-metres is no less of a challenge and you certainly won’t be short of the occasional splash! A firm favourite amongst keen golfers, the signature 12th hole inspired by the 17th at Sawgrass, features an island green accessed only via a charming wooden bridge. Having hosted both PGA and European Tour events, the course is an ideal test for golfers of every level.

    Accommodation

A warm and inviting atmosphere awaits guests in this 143-room hotel of luxury and leisure. Rooms at The Vale Resort all feature plush beds, crisp white linen & contemporary ensuite facilities that make a stay in the lush Welsh countryside feel both modern and clean. Additionally, the rooms all have high speed Wi-Fi, writing desks & lights, air-conditioning, 24-hour room service and luxury toiletries. Most importantly, the resort has spacious rooms that cannot be found in any inner-city hotel.

Eating in-room for informalities is a great idea at The Vale Resort, with a range of menus that vary throughout the day, and cosy rooms, it’s perfect for the romantic getaway that can be improved with the option of champagne, chocolates and fruit baskets on arrival. Guests can also enjoy the panoramic scenery of the championship golf courses or landscaped gardens from private balconies.

    Resort Dining

A leisurely brunch, a distinctly Welsh afternoon tea, a traditional Sunday lunch with all the trimmings or award-winning fine dining: it’s safe to say they’ve got your taste buds covered. Whichever of the Vale Resort’s restaurants you choose, you will find the same commitment to simple, unpretentious dishes that lets ingredients do the talking. Think fresh, local produce that is thoughtfully sourced, cooked with love and bursting with flavour.

    Vale Grill

If you’re hungry for food that’s deliciously modern, farm-to-table fresh and scrape-the-plate tasty then you won’t want to miss the à la carte dining at the Vale Grill. This is where the culinary magic happens. The chefs are a dab hand at creating unforgettable dishes from the finest locally-supplied ingredients, season after season, and given the explosion of fantastic artisanal food producers in this part of Wales there’s plenty to choose from. Sunday lunches are outrageously good. It’s not just the menu that’s fresh and inviting, either. The Vale Grill’s stylish, floor-to-ceiling glass conservatory ensures dining here is always a light-filled and uplifting experience with spectacular views of the Vale Resort’s Lake Golf Course to savour. It’s the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea with friends and family. In the summer, weather permitting, they open the terrace too, so you can dine al fresco.

    Vale Bar

There’s far more to the Vale Bar than tasty local craft beers but we reckon they’re a pretty good place to start. Its copper-accented décor is modern and airy, and its menu is committed to simple, informal food that looks good and tastes great. Retreat there for a laid-back, but more private, dining or drinking experience with friends. The Vale Resort is always proud to be a home-away-from-home for the Wales national rugby and football teams, too, so keep your eyes peeled for sporting memorabilia.

    Salamanza Bar

A grand piano, modern art, plush sofas and ambient lighting: when you fancy a glass with class, pre-dinner drinks at Salamanza Champagne bar are a must. From 6pm until late, the bar’s master mixologist works his magic, crafting cocktails to suit every mood. For those seeking a sparkly sundowner, Salamanza’s top-drawer bubbly comes courtesy of centuries-old Champagne house Laurent-Perrier.

    Resort Facilities

Health & Fitness is at the Heart of The Vale Resort, as they’re the training venue for the likes of Wales’ national Rugby and Football teams. The gym has 55 cutting-edge cardiovascular machines, plus a high-intensity interval training zone and free-weights area. Additionally, they offer over 80 fitness classes, or if you feel like swimming they have a multi-lane swimming pool. 3 floodlit tennis courts and 3 squash courts also await guests. Other wet facilities include a sauna, steam room, whirlpool bath, aqua classes and swim fitness training.

    How to Get There

The Vale Resort is under 25-minutes’ drive from Cardiff’s city centre, making transfers possible and rental cars cheap. For those driving from further afield, The Vale Resort is just under 60-minutes’ drive from Swansea, just over 60-minutes from Bristol, 3-hours from London and 2-hours’ from Birmingham. If flying into Wales, Cardiff is accessible from most European destinations and some further international destinations, which makes The Vale Resort especially easy to get to.
