The Celtic Manor Resort

Golf Course Information
As the venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup and home of The Celtic Manor Wales Open, a leading European Tour event, The Celtic Manor Resort offers some of the finest golf courses and facilities in the UK. These include the Robert Trent Jones Snr designed Roman Road course, The Montgomerie, designed by Ryder Cup legend and next European Team Captain, Colin Montgomerie and The Twenty Ten, which is the first course in history specifically designed to host The Ryder Cup. There is also a world-class golf academy featuring a floodlit two tier driving range, short game area, golf shop and teaching bays. The courses are served by two luxurious golf clubhouses – The Twenty Ten Clubhouse and The Lodge, which is one of Europe’s largest clubhouses.
The Twenty Ten Course
Built to stage the 2010 Ryder Cup, the first course to be built specifically for golf’s greatest team tournament, The Twenty Ten measures a robust 7,493 yards (6581m) off the back tees and has a par of 71. With water hazards on half of its holes, the course has six signature holes and presents many more memorable tests and risk-and-reward dilemmas. One of the features of the spectacular course is its variety with many of the earlier holes having a links-like feel with long rough and greenside swales, before the middle section reveals the full extent of the lake-lined challenge. A tough finishing stretch culminates in a real sting in the tail at the 18th.
The Roman Road Course
The very first of the Resort’s courses, Roman Road opened in 1995 and was ranked ‘the top inland course in Wales’ by Golf Monthly Magazine. This par 70 course overlooks the Severn Estuary with views across to Somerset and Devon. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, it is named after the old Via Julia Roman highway that ran through its fairways. As the venue for numerous European Tour and Senior Tour events, this challenging course features some long open fairways but also a number of twists and turns through trees and across streams. The different grass cuts are immaculately trimmed and any round on The Roman Road feels like a tournament round, due to its high-end maintenance and lack of wind.
The Montgomerie Course
Offering a spectacular par 69 challenge, the legendary Colin Montgomerie has called on all his Ryder Cup experience to create a course with many exciting tests of strategy. Montgomerie has also drawn on his roots in Scottish links golf to create a traditional feel enhanced by deep and penal pot bunkers. Spectacular views abound with dramatic tee shots over valleys and breathtaking downhill shots. Host course for various professional and high ranking amateur events. This course was the 2015 EuroPro tour venue, and features rolling hills of parkland doglegs that create a fun challenge. The spectacular par-3 is featured in the 1001 Holes You Must Play Before You Die book.

The Manor House Hotel (4-Star)
This beautiful four-star country house hotel oozes history and charm combined with all the luxurious facilities of a world-class resort. Stylish bedrooms with all the modern comforts you’ll love, the luxurious Forum Health Club only a hop, skip and jump away, and its own contemporary Asian-inspired restaurant. Rooms at The Manor House vary from doubles, twins or family. They all come equipped with separate baths and showers, queen or king-sized beds, and stylish décor. Manor Period Rooms are the way to go when staying at The Manor House Hotel, simply because of the 19th-century feel and traditional décor; they add the complete experience to the Celtic Manor.

Coldra Court Hotel (4-Star)
Only five-minutes from the Celtic Manor Resort, you’re sure to fall for Coldra Court’s stylish bedrooms, Southern inspired smokehouse restaurant, health club, pool and gym. Coldra Court is a real Celtic convenience, with Celtic Manor’s fabulous golf, spa and activities just a complimentary shuttle ride away. The standard rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi, work desks and complimentary tea/coffee making facilities. The refurbished rooms have been a part of the £2 million makeover and offer comfortable living space with luxurious rain showers and state of the art beds. Hunter Lodges
With four fabulous ensuite bedrooms, luxury living space and hot tub with views to die for, Hunter Lodges are just made for sharing with the ones you love. The sensational open-plan area at the heart of each lodge is perfect for entertaining, relaxing and dining together. At the same time, a cosy chill-out room is an ideal place for personal time, us time or family playtime. The lodges feature four ensuite bedrooms with king-sized beds (can be reconfigured into twins), additional first-floor family bathroom & first-floor indoor sauna. Newbridge on USK (5-Star)
You will never want to leave the idyllic five-star restaurant with rooms, only a few miles upriver from the resort. Head outdoors to explore the beautiful countryside, then make your way back for drinks and dining in their award-winning restaurant. Enjoy a relaxing night’s sleep when you choose to stay in one of six rooms all with luxurious roll-top baths. Each of Newbridge on Usk’s rooms are beautifully furnished with oak and teak pieces, while the luxurious bathrooms feature limestone and marble tiles with hand-made oak fittings, roll top baths and storm showers. The Olive Tree & Garden Room

How to Get There
The Celtic Manor Resort is conveniently located 15-minutes’ drive from Newport to its south-west. From Bristol, the drive is just 30-minutes or 45-minutes from Bristol Airport. If you’re coming from Cardiff or its airport, the drive is under 30-minutes. The Resort is conveniently located 60-minutes’ drive from Swansea, 2 hours from Southampton, and 2.5 hours from London.
