Homepage / Listings / Australia and Pacific / Australia / Victoria / Moonah Links Legends Course
The Moonah Links Resort offers two golf courses, full practice facilities, a restaurant, rental equipment and more. The Legends and Open Courses are set amongst the rolling dunes of Southern Mornington Peninsula right near Bass Strait, the famous Gunnamatta Ocean Beach, world-famous wineries and golf courses. You’re never far from the action at the Moonah Links Resort, especially with two world-class courses onsite. In addition, a fully integrated Golf Pavilion provides change rooms, bag store, conference facilities and a large viewing deck.
A 36-hole day at Moonah Links Resort is easy with facilities that are accessible to everyone. The Legends Course has been rated as the 33rd best course in Australia, and the Open course is among the Top 50. The Legends Course features on our Mornington Peninsula Golf Experience. We recommend staying on the Peninsula and playing other local golf courses during your stay, these include: The National Golf Club, The Dunes and St Andrews Beach Golf Club.
The Moonah Links Golf Courses are set out in some of Australia’s best golf landscapes. Rolling sand dunes combine with wild moonah-tree forests that spring out of the sand and give the landscape an other-worldly feel. The course is more forgiving than its sibling, The Open Course, in that it offers more generous fairways and large greens that are less undulating. But it is a long course and those who aren’t long and straight with their tee or follow-up shots will find it a challenge to score their handicaps. The main challenge in terms of obstacles are the bunkers on the Moonah Links Legends Course. They are deep, bold and beautiful, and will wreak havoc both on the fairways and around the greens if you enter them too often so the best advice is to stay well clear.
The Moonah Links Legends Course has five tee placements at each whole that varies the course length to suit every calibre of golfer. So it doesn’t really matter if the wind is howling and you are keen on scoring a good round, there is ample choice for your tee-placement. Overall, it is a fantastic course and the architects have put the land to excellent use. It is maintained to the highest order and the greens are firm, running true. As with all links near the sea, and especially true of the Mornington Peninsula, when the prevailing south-westerly wind blows it can be Antarctic and devastating on your round. If you enjoy golf and enjoy scenery, there is no shortage of fun at the Moonah Links Legends Course.
Spike Bar
The Mornington Peninsula is well-known for both its food experiences as well as its cool climate wines, particularly pinot noir and chardonnay. The Spike Bar offers superb views over The Open Course and the scattered Moonah trees around the property. It offers a relaxed menu with a great variety of dishes that caters for all kinds of needs. It is open from 0700 AM until late, so you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Spike Bar, as well as quick meals before your round.
Pro Shop
The pro shop at the Moonah Links Resort comes fully stocked and is large in size. It offers golf equipment from the leaders in golf hardware: Taylormade and Titleist, who always incorporate the latest technology into their products. There is a brand-new range of lifestyle products for in-house guests and day visitors, perfect for a souvenir of your visit or a gift to take home.
Practice Facilities
Practice facilities at the Moonah Links Resort consist of an on-site gymnasium, a practice putting green and a full driving range. The gymnasium is located away from the clubhouse and golf complex in the main resort area, but the putting green is in front of the clubhouse and the driving range is adjacent.
