Golf Course Information

The Pezula Championship Golf Course is simply stunning. Designed by David Dale and Ron Fream, the golf course is set on rolling terrain with pristine mountains, and lush forest surrounds. It opened in 2001 and immediately won the ‘Best New Golf Course in South Africa’ by Compleat Golfer Magazine. Similarly, Golf Digest has rated Pezula as #17 in South Africa. The Pezula golf course has a links design. Set on 254 hectares atop the Knysna clifftops, the golf course features views over the Knysna Lagoon and the Indian Ocean. With a par of 72, the course is 6,485 yards / 5,930 metres long. The course covers a vast area; the two nines lie on opposite sides of the clubhouse, and every hole offers different views and aesthetics. The signature holes are the 13^th and 14^th, which offer sensational views over the Indian Ocean as a par-5 and par-4 respectively.

Wide fairways feature at Pezula Resort. Between holes resides private estates, ravines and native bush-land. Some tiered tees require long carries over these ravines to open fairways. Rounded bunkers pepper the terrain, while raised greens form a natural defence against uncontrolled golf shots. When the wind is blowing, it is a challenging golf course, but its varied tees accommodate every calibre of golfer.

Accommodation

Suites

An adept eye has designed the Pezula Hotel Suites for detail. Complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, and many with ocean views, you can choose from five different suite categories. The entry-level suites are Deluxe, featuring a private patio with garden views and a spacious interior. The luxury suites offer golf course or garden views, providing a larger space to relax. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and bidets.

Superior suites have more space, with a private patio or balcony with views over the Knysna lagoon. They also offer a separate lounge room to unwind after a long round. Presidential suites provide the most luxury with ocean views from the bedroom and golf course views from the entertainment area; these suites offer fully equipped kitchens and high-end finishes. Nothing says more exclusive than the Pezula Resort Presidential Suite. The final option is the inter-leading family suites; offering inter-connected rooms for families or couples to enjoy individual privacy with access to a shared communal area.

Villas

Providing ultimate luxury in the Garden Route, the two-bedroom villas accommodate up to four guests. They also feature a heated plunge pool with separate living and dining areas. A fully-equipped kitchen fronts an open-plan living area with sliding doors to the plunge pool. Ideal for longer golf stays, the two-bedroom villa is an excellent choice for privacy, eating in, and small groups.

Situated offsite, Pezula Resort manages several private castles available to you. Perched on cliffsides overlooking the Noetzie Beach, the private accommodations offer exclusivity and luxury for the ultimate golf trip. Zachary’s Bistro

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Pezula’s Zachary’s Bistro is on the ground floor of the hotel. The fare is locally sourced, and you can enjoy every meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The menu changes seasonally to adapt to local produce supply. For breakfast, enjoy A la carte or a buffet. For lunch, choose from local seafood, fresh salads, decadent burgers, pizzas and pastas, and save room for dessert.

Noah’s Bar

Refined, contemporary and decadent, Noah’s Bar at Pezula Resort offers fantastic food and beverages. The breakfast is A la carte, with healthy and full English breakfasts on the menu. The golf facilities at Pezula Resort are world-class. A short-game chipping and pitching area is available for all players. A large putting green adjacent to the clubhouse and the first tee is available. The clubhouse at Pezula Resort has a large terrace with Indian Ocean views, a restaurant and bar, boutique pro shop and comfortable change rooms with showers. It also has a halfway house with dining facilities for mid-round refreshments.

How to Get There

The Pezula Resort is situated in the heart of South Africa’s Garden Route, on its southern coast. You can drive from east George Airport, which takes around 65 minutes. You can also drive west from Jeffreys Bay, which takes 120 minutes. The closest city is Port Elizabeth, which is just under 3-hours’ drive from Pezula Resort.
