About

A golfing Mecca to the most accomplished golfer or the enthusiastic amateur, a trip to St Andrews Links is one which realises the ultimate dream for golfers worldwide. From the iconic Swilcan bridge on The Old Course to Tom Morris’ masterful architecture on the New Course, St Andrews Links has developed over 600 years to become one of the most famous locations in golf. Central to their history and still true to this day is the fact that all seven courses at St Andrews Links are public and Open to everyone. The Jubilee Course at St Andrews is one of the highlights; set on prime links land, the golf course deserves a round during any St Andrews golf holiday. Golf Course Information

The third championship course at the Home of Golf, the Jubilee is considered by many to be the most challenging course on the famous links. Built in 1897, it was intended for use by ladies and beginners; however, after seeing its prime golfing location between The New Course and the North Sea, the Jubilee was converted to a championship layout in 1988. It was named in honour of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, celebrating her 60-year reign as the British monarch. Considered by many to be the most challenging course at St Andrews, you will have to bring your best game when you visit the Jubilee Course.

The Jubilee is probably the toughest course in St Andrews, with several genuinely challenging driving holes and an unusual position at the point of the estuary, exposing it to the famously strong winds. The tee at the par-3 ninth features regular howlers, facing a long iron into the famously hard green. And the closing stretch challenges you to a series of difficult par-fours, as difficult as it gets. The course is similar to the Carnoustie Championship Links course with its bunkers and green undulations; it is decidedly tough golf at the best of times.

The 15th hole is your nemesis, just 325 metres long but an odd beast all the same.  Take a well-hit drive, and you should be left with a nice, short approach which doesn’t look too tricky.  But when you play your shot into the green, you get the full picture – a surprisingly deep gully pushes your ball to the left or right, and it catches people out time after time.
