About

The Blairgowrie Golf Club is one of the UK’s most highly regarded golf clubs, famous for its rich history and Championship golf courses.  The Club features the renowned Rosemount and Lansdowne championship courses plus the majestic 9-hole course which are all set in heather lined avenues of pine and silver birch.  Founded as a private members’ Club in 1889, Blairgowrie lies in the heart of the magnificent Perthshire countryside. All their courses consistently feature in Scotland’s Top 100 Golf Courses, so it’s no wonder why golf at Blairgowrie Golf Club is enjoyed by so many from near and far. It is also a great course to play if you’re on your way north to The Highlands. Golfers typically play courses such as Dunbar, Scotscraig Golf Club, Crail Golfing Society’s Balcomie & Craighead courses, before heading north to play at The Blairgowrie Golf Club and other courses in Aberdeenshire and The Highlands.

In recent years both championship courses have hosted many national events, most notably the British Seniors Amateur Stroke Play Championship twice and the British Boys Home Internationals, both run by the Royal & Ancient. The Scottish Amateur 72-hole stroke play event has been played on several occasions, as has the Scottish Mid-Amateur championship. Greg Norman won his first European Tour event in 1977 – the Martini tournament held on the Rosemount course. The maturity and stature of the Club was recognised by the granting of a Coat of Arms by then Lord Lyon at a ceremony on 5th April 1980. The Blairgowrie Golf Club lies just 45-minutes inland from Carnoustie Golf Links and Panmure Golf Course.

Golf Course Information

Rosemount Course

Designed by James Braid with influences from Dr. Alistair McKenzie, the renowned architect of the Augusta National course, Rosemount has played host to a number of prestigious professional and amateur tournaments. The more forgiving fairways are compensated with larger and more undulating greens than its younger neighbour, giving the golfer a testing but rewarding challenge.

Landsowne Course

Lansdowne, designed by respected partnership of Peter Allis and Dave Thomas, is a true championship course and a fine test of golf. It offers a more challenging test routed through swathes of pine and silver birch trees, putting a premium on accuracy from the tee. With smaller greens than its older neighbour, the Lansdowne championship course provides a challenging but pleasurable test for all levels of golfer. The course was officially opened in 1979 and to date has held many prestigious events including the Scottish Amateur Championship in 2013 and PGA Championship Final in 2014.
