Golf’s oldest major returns to Royal Portrush Golf Club for the second time in six years in 2025. The Open Championship, where the best in the world compete for Champion Golfer of the Year, returns to the Dunluce Course for just the third time in 74 years.
The 148th Open was staged in 2019 when local Irishman Shane Lowry lifted The Claret Jug. The dates for the 153rd Open are confirmed as 13 – 20 July 2025. Royal Portrush, on Ireland’s Antrim Coast, became the first golf course outside Scotland and England to host The Open Championship in 1951.
