    Course Description

Designed by the master golfer, Jack Nicklaus, this signature golf course plays firm and fast and accommodates golfers of every skill level. This public course provides a minimalist experience with an emphasis on the golf game itself, combining strategy with playability, beautiful transitions and true putting surfaces. Ancient lava rock ridges and outcroppings intertwine with natural landscapes and accent magnificent views of the Cascade Mountains. At 6,747 Metres / 7,379 Yards, this course has a par of 72 & appears as if each hole is branded as Nicklaus’ Signature. Water comes into play more often than you’d think on a desert course, but it’s the seamlessly integrated fairways into the landscape that creates awe-inspired reactions for players.

It is a testament to the staff members when observing the immaculately kept conditions of the course. In classic Jack Nicklaus style, the layout makes you think about your shots because anything off the fairway is difficult to get back on due to the obstructiveness of the desert landscape and numerous shrubs. Tight fairways often open to flat greens, and isolated tee-boxes often lead to well-placed fairway bunkers that don’t provide too much hindrance if you are capable of escaping them. Various sets of tee boxes allow golfers of all abilities to play the course, but there lie many obstacles in the layout.

"The Nicklaus course at Pronghorn is an excellently designed and impeccably maintained course. The course has a nice variety of short and long holes to challenge players of all ages. The course is typically generous off the tee (typical Nicklaus), but the approach shots require precision. The bunker placement and green contours are excellent. The course is firm and fast, yet very playable. The clubhouse setting, conditioning, amenities, course design / routing, and views make this a very special golfing experience."
