The Kinloch Club Golf Course
Designed by The Golden Bear Jack Nicklaus, The Kinloch Club is an inland links championship golf course. Built as a modern par-72 golf course, it boasts being the only Nicklaus-designed course in New Zealand. The layout eschews a design philosophy that aims to enhance the natural environment, a style that Nicklaus has efficiently and beautifully reflected. The Kinloch Club was voted in the Top Ten New Golf Courses in the world by US Travel and Leisure Golf Magazine, which was the only course outside North America to make the list.
Wairakei Golf Course
Located just minutes from Taupo, the Wairakei golf course and sanctuary offers an immersive experience of golf and ecology. The golf course is set within a heavily forested area with geothermal activity underfoot which creates a harmonious environment to both play golf and take a relaxing walk through nature. The golf course provides all the hallmarks of a championship course, and its sheer beauty makes it popular with professional and amateur golfers alike.
Taupo Golf Club
The Taupo Golf Club is located just minutes from the town centre, not far from the renowned Lake Taupo. Of 36 holes at the golf club, the Centennial course is an 18-hole route that is considered the better of the two. It plays like an inland links golf course but has trees dotted around its fairways and between greens. Large wastelands and fescue-grass roughs make the Centennial course a fun challenge, while the views create a memorable golf experience for all.
The Kinloch Manor & Villas
Bold, modern and luxurious, The Kinloch Manor is situated on an exclusive edge of Lake Taupo in New Zealand’s North Island. Everything at the Kinloch Manor has been overseen with the highest level of intricacy, from the bespoke bedroom furnishings to the décor in the main lodge. Accommodation features unconventional flares that exude an eclectic mix of rustic furniture and luxuriously-designed interiors; the result is a Bond-like abode that feels surreal.
The restaurant is simply named “K,” and is located in the main building which overlooks the Nicklaus-designed golf course. The cuisine offered at The Kinloch Club features a live kitchen as they take guests on a culinary tour of the seasons, allowing you to partake in the pinnacle of refined gastronomy where the experience is as rewarding as the taste. Facilities at The Kinloch Manor and Villas consist of the Solar Spa, infinity pool, tennis courts and well-fitted gymnasium. Guests can also take to nearby lakeside trails on bikes from The Kinloch Manor. The five-star resort is as indulgent as your wildest dreams.
Lake Taupo Rock Carving Cruise
This golf experience includes a Lake Taupo cruise to see the Maori rock carvings. Hailed as one of New Zealand’s most extraordinary contemporary Maori artworks, the 14-metre rock carving contributes to Taupo’s renown as a cultural destination. The 2-hour afternoon lake cruise includes wine, beer and pizzas, departing at 17:00. Enjoy indoor or outdoor seating with fantastic photo opportunities of the rock carving or tree-lined bays with snow-capped mountains in the background.
